Production methods of Piperazine anhydrous

There are a variety of piperazine synthesis routes, mainly the following: 

1. Ethanolamine closed-loop cracking process. It is domestic traditional production method of Piperazine hyexahydrate (content 40% ~ 44%) . The method has the advantages of simple process, less investment, but high consumption, low yield, high cost, more by-products, and serious corrosion of equipment.

2. Ethanol and liquid ammonia reaction route. This route is cheap, easy to get raw materials, the reaction product of piperazine and ethylenediamine, piperazine yield is 12% ~ 25%, the yield ethylenediamine 43% ~ 47% .

3. Process route using ethylene as raw materials to make synthesis reaction of ethylenediamine, ethanolamine, by-product of piperazine, piperazine accounted for about 5% of total output. The method has low pollution, low cost and good quality, but it must be matched with large scale petrochemical plant. The key to the process is the catalyst, the world's only Sweden Nobel company to solve this problem. 

4. Direct cyclization process of ethylenediamine. By ethylenediamine selective one step gas phase,  this synthesis can get direct piperazine. It is the latest German patent. Recently, China has conducted research and development of ethylenediamine direct catalytic cyclization process, has made some achievements, is characterized by simple process, high yield, low production cost, and each reaction product can be sold as a product.

Usage of Piperazine anhydrous

Piperazine is an important pharmaceutical intermediate, can be used in the synthesis of piperazine phosphate, norfloxacin, piperazine sulfate, Pipemidic Acid and quinolones, rifampicin. In our country, using piperazine as raw materials to produce varieties of 20 kinds of medicine. At present, the development of foreign popular medicinal efficacy of piperazine derivatives, synthesis of some piperazine derivatives can be used as anti-inflammatory agents. Other derivatives can reduce blood sugar, which has a good effect on the treatment of diabetes, obesity and so on.

 Piperazine is widely used for surface active agent, preservative, antioxidant, stabilizer, corrosion inhibitor, foaming agent, emulsifier, cosmetics, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries in the production of rubber vulcanization accelerator. In China, with a total production capacity of about 600 tons, the actual annual yield is less than 100 tons. Piperazine has been developed, but has not yet formed the production capacity, the process needs to be improved.  At present in our country especially the piperazine anhydrous piperazine yield is too small, can not meet the market demand, 90% for anhydrous piperazine.

 In addition to pharmaceutical intermediates, application of piperazine in other fields is also expanding. As for piperazine anthelmintic care agent in feed industry, deworming rate is usually up to 80%. With the rapid development of domestic feed additives industry, the consumption of piperazine in the feed additive will increase year by year. Piperazine can also be used as a fertilizer activating agent, the use effect is good. If the application will also make the piperazine demand showed a rapid growth trend. Another important product is obtained by piperazine amine triethylene two, almost all used as a catalyst in the production of polyurethane. 

At present, China has limited supply of Piperazine anhydrous, much tobe imported from overseas. This needs for reform to improve. Therefore, to accelerate the development of piperazine is imperative.
