P-Toluenesulfonyl Isocyanate PTSI has wide application. In the process of production of paint, dye and tar etc., it plays as dehydrating agent, as solvent and filler etc., which react with water to produce carbon dioxide and p-toluenesulfonamide, which generally does not reacwith alkyl isocyanate and aryl isocyanate reaction, and soluble in common solvents. In addition, it does not lead to the phenomenon of yellowing of the system. Through the use of P-Toluenesulfonyl Isocyanate in the production of polyurethane paint, due to the loss of light caused by wet surface, yellowing and reactive foam and other phenomena have been reduced.

P-Toluenesulfonyl Isocyanate has a very high reactivity, and therefore need to be particularly cautious in the application and operation. This product is highly reactive with water, alcohol, amine, acid and alkali, and can not be poured into the container. The carbon dioxide produced by the reaction with one gram of water is 1.3 liters. As the water comes into the container, extremely large amount of gas be generated in a short time, will cause the container to burst or explode.
