Production of sodium methoxide by alkali method
The alkaline process is to use methanol and sodium hydroxide. The reaction is as follows: CH3OH + CH3ONa - NaOH + H2O
(1) the configuration of methanol solution
Crush solid sodium hydroxide, and proportionally add it into the pot containing methanol (99.8%) which is alkali soluble. Then use liquid circulating pump, to control the temperature at 70 DEG C. When the content reaches 20% ~ 23%, cooling to 40 DEG C into the sedimentation tank, stocking for 12 hours ready for use.
(2) Preparation of sodium methoxide
To heat the vaporization pot and interlayer by filling water steam, with temperature control at 85 to 100 DEG C, at the rate of 180L/h adding anhydrous methanol to the vaporization pot. To add methanol alkali solution into the reaction tower at flow rate of 25kg/h. Steam out the methanol gas containing 2% water in the reaction from the top of the reaction tower, into the purification distillation column to make anhydrous methanol recycle (water loss). The temperature control of the reaction tower bottom (i.e., the vaporization pot) is 70 to 65 degrees Celsius, and the bottom material of the column is 31% to 27%, and the free base is below 1%. The product is prepared with a yield of 86% (in sodium hydroxide).
The consumption quota of the process is as follows: methanol (95%) 973kg/t, sodium hydroxide (99.5%) 209kg/t.
Sodium process for production of sodium methoxide
Using sodium and methanol as raw materials, the chemical reaction was carried out by batch process. The reaction is as follows: 2CH3OH + 2Na + H2 = 2CH3ONa
This production process is mainly divided into four parts:
1, feeding process. Pump industrial methanol to the methanol metering tank, and add 120kg Sodium into the reaction kettle.
2, the nitrogen replacement process. close the charging, emptying valve and introducing nitrogen into the reaction kettle. When the pressure gauge index reached 0.1MPa, open the vent valve to relieve pressure, repeated three times after reflow, the vent valve remains open to pass into the nitrogen.
3, the reaction process. Add cooling water into the condenser, immediately through the methanol metering tank to add the methanol (attention to methanol adding speed). Stop the nitrogen transpmission when reaction keeps 5 ~ 10min. Continue to add the methanol, in the 2 ~ 3H 820kg methanol will be added until in the reaction solution no bubble generation
4, products will be added and tank, sampling analysis, and reconcile to the desired concentration, barrel.
Comparison of production technology of alkali method and sodium method
Sodium methoxide obtained by alkali method with sodium is high and stable, low free alkali, can remove alcohol in solution and other impurities. Na2CO3 content in sodium methoxide obtained by alkali method is low, can improve the user's product quality and yield.
