N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP, CAS 872-50-4) is an organic substance with the chemical formula of C5H9NO. It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with a slight smell of ammonia. It is miscible with water in any proportion, soluble in ether, acetone, esters, halohydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and other organic solvents, and almost completely mixed with all solvents.
