Properties of Cesium Hydroxide CAS 35103-79-8
It is hygroscopic, easily soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. Cesium hydroxide is the strongest alkali known and is known as the king of alkalis. The hot concentrated cesium hydroxide solution quickly reacts with nickel or silver. The solution is placed in a platinum container and heated to 180°C for dehydration to form a monohydrate. Continue heating to 400°C to further dehydrate to an anhydrate. Both solids and solutions can absorb carbon dioxide from the air. It reacts with carbon monoxide at high temperature to produce cesium formate, cesium oxalate and cesium carbonate.

Application of Cesium Hydroxide CAS 35103-79-8
1. Used as an electrode in alkaline storage batteries at sub-zero temperature.
2. Used as a polymerization catalyst for cyclosilane.
3. Cesium hydroxide is also used as a raw material for the production of other cesium salts (such as cesium chloride, which is used to produce cesium metal). Cesium metal is used in electronic components
