Glyceryl monocaprylate is a new type of non-toxic high-efficiency broad-spectrum preservative. It has inhibitory effects on gram bacteria, molds and yeasts. It was first developed and put on the market in Japan in the 1980s. It is a colorless and transparent liquid that can be dispersed in hot water and is soluble in ethanol and hot fats. It is a kind of esteric non-ionic emulsifier with an HLB value of 5.2. It has dual functions of antiseptic and emulsification.

Application of Glyceryl monooctanoate (CMG) CAS 26402-26-6
It is mainly used as an antibacterial and emulsifier in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Adding a concentration of 0.05% to 0.06% in meat products can completely inhibit bacteria, molds and yeasts;
using 0.04% in raw cut noodles, the shelf life is increased from 2 days to 4 days compared with the control group;
It can be used for bean paste, cakes, moon cakes, and wet noodles. The maximum use amount is 1g/kg; meat sausage is 0.5g/kg.
